Spiral coolers have a spiral-shaped cooling section and are used preferably where wafer sandwiches are not allowed to be turned during the cooling operation (e.g. sandwiches with strewed topping).

Wafer sandwiches are cooled so that the cream filling gains the firmness required for cutting and packing.
The capacity of the wafer sandwich cooler depends on the plant capacity and the required product-specific cooling time. A robust rod belt made of rust-proof high-grade steel is used for transporting the sandwiches.
